Aerial view of Charles Town. Central in the photograph is The Hill and a number of dependencies. The Hill was built by the Matthew Frame and currently owned by the Perry family. The Norfolk and Western Railroad runs left to right through the middle of the photograph. The N & W Station can be seen on the left and the original Shenandoah Valley Railroad station is just to the right. The road running diagonally into the countryside is present day Martin Luther King Boulevard/Route 51. Visible on Martin Luther King Boulevard is Zion Baptist Church and Eagle Avenue School. In the upper third of the photograph both Altona (Davenport) and Rosemont are visible.
