Description

Students and teacher Cerelle Page Craven at the first Eagle Avenue School, an African American school, in Charles Town, circa 1925. School was built on a lot purchased in 1894 from George and Emily Washington for $500. Originally a four-room building, two additional rooms were added in 1906; used until 1959, when a new building was erected on Harewood Avenue.
