Rose Brake - home of Mr. and Mrs. William B. Snyder.
NOTE: Poplar Grove was built in 1828 by Daniel Morgan. The house was purchased in 1859 by Caroline Lawrence Bedinger, widow of Henry Bedinger. From 1873 to 1877 the house was occupied by Alexander Robinson Boteler. Boteler's house Fountain Rock was burned in 1864 by Union cavalry. In 1877 Caroline Bedinger's daughter, Danske Bedinger Dandridge moved into the house with her husband Stephen Dandridge and they renamed the property Rose Brake. The house remained in the Bedinger family until the death of Serena Dandridge, Danske's daughter, in 1956.
