Description

Foreword The closest and only Civil War Battle in Charlottesville and Albemarle County was the skirmish that occurred at Rio Hill on February 29, 1864. This skirmish potted Brigadier General George A Custer, USA, against Captain Marcellus N. Moorman, CSA. In July 1988 the areas of the skirmish and the sites on which the Confederates constructed their camps and huts for protection against the cold winter weather are being replaced by the a shopping mall. It is hoped that our account of the events and the relics found in Rio Hill will contribute to the memory and an appreciation of the small band of Confederate soldiers who lived and fought there. Physical Description: There is an orange sticker in the top left corner of the front cover which says that the pamphlet cost $4.50. Includes the authors signatures on the inside cover of the pamphlet.
