Six formerly framed photos of General Robert E. Lee, his horse Traveller, and Washington and Lee University campus. The captions on the photos are below: IMG1878-1: "General Robert Edward Lee, C. S. A." IMG1878-2: "Robert E. Lee" IMG1878-3: "Gen Robert E. Lee on his horse Traveller, Traveller was his favorite war horse. This picture, taken in Lexington, Virginia, in 1867, by..(illegible)...only one ever taken by General Lee's own request." IMG1878-4: "Entrance to campus, showing Grace Memorial Church. General Lee was a vestryman of the parish during his residence in Lexington and the Church was erected..." (the rest of the caption is cut off) IMG1878-5: "Campus. Washington and Lee University in winter, looking towards Grace Memorial Episcopal Church." IMG1878-6: "Washington College. This college received its first permanent endowment - $50,000 from George Washington. General Lee was elected president June 21st, 1865, and presided over it till his death in 1870. Since then it has become Washington and Lee University."
