Presbyterian Church (219 E. Washington Street). A classic example of Greek Revival architecture, this church was built in 1851 on land given by John Stephenson. Having served as a hospital for both Union and Confederate troops, this was the only church in town not damaged during the Civil War. The steeple was added in 1907. It is on the Presbyterian and Reformed Historic Site Register.
