1855 Harpers Ferry single shot percussion rifle-musket, Maynard tape primer. Three barrel bands. Sling swivel in front and part of trigger guard. Sling swivel on middle barrel band. Stamped on forward part of lock "U.S. HARPERS FERRY". Stamped on left side of barrel are proof marks "V" over "P" over eagle head. Stamped on each side of barrel bands is "U". Flip up rear sight with two elevation levels, blade front sight. Slightly curved butt-stock with metal plate.
