Panoramic (pieced together) of Powhatan College
Verso reads: "Built in 1899, at a cost of $70,000. Thoroughly christian, but non-sectarian. St. Hilda's Hall for Girls occupied the old Powhatan College building, opening in the fall of 1915. In 1921 another structure was added and named Peterkin Hall. The school flourished for a time but closed its doors in the economic depression which followed the stock market crash of 1929. Burned December 11, 1937."Acquisition
