Three scrapbooks containing clippings, generally labeled by month and year, from local newspapers for the Jefferson County Schools: 1) July 1971 - March 1976 2) March 23, 1976 - December 10, 1980 3) January 1981 - July 1984 and additional loose articles for 1986 and 1987 Subjects include, but not limited to: Student photos, awards, athletics, deaths Teacher awards, recognitions, deaths Board articles regarding budgets, policies, transportation, teacher selection, law suits, discrimination charges, new buildings and new construction plans, political influences, state legislative issues, moving into a consolidated high school in autumn 1972 Newspaper clippings collected/maintained was begun by Mary Cheshire Stocks, head of public relations for Jefferson County Schools, and subsequently by her successor Gail Propps Zamberlan Woods Physical Characteristics: Three black-covered traditional scrapbooks, width 20" x height 25" and thickness 1-1/2" each. Newspaper clippings are attached to each page, generally labeled by month and year.
