Description

US Model 1840 musket made in Springfield MA. .69 caliber converted to percussion; lockplate dated 1841. According to Miller family history, Abraham Snyder Miller found this musket on the Antietam battlefield after the battle (also known as battle of Sharpsburg). Miller drove a spring wagon from Kearneysville, W. Va., to Sharpsburg, Md.
