Built on the corner of Charles and North Streets in the early 1850's as a one story stone school for white students, the upper brick portion added later, used as a school until 1893. In 1894 the school was sold to the Charles Town Mining, Manufacturing, and Improvement Company, and later was used as a warehouse by Cook and Phillips, a hardware business, and still later used as the Jefferson Creamery from 1937-1948. Today it is owned by the Asbury Methodist Church.
