Small, two piece crimping iron with iron handle. Top piece marked "THE BEST". Bottom piece marked "C. W. WHITFIELD SYRACUSE, NY. PAT. APP'D FOR". Item was patented in 1866. Used to create pleated frills ("flutes") for women's clothing.
