"The Hoffman Family: Two Hundred Years in America, by Lloyd K. Hoffman," is a history of the Hoffman family of the Rhenish Palatinate stock of Old Germany who emigrated to the United States in the early 18th century and settled in Maryland and Virginia. Some members of the Hoffman family lived in Shepherdstown. Also contains information on the Newcomer family who intermarried with the Hoffman family.
