U.S. Navy dress sword or sabre with decorative brass handle and hand guard with serpent or dolphin theme. Handle has textured, off-white and grey overlay (possibly sharkskin--see Notes). Steel blade is slightly curved, and etched throughout its length, with imagery such as anchors, eagles, ropes, and vine. The acronym "U.S.N." is etched in the blade, as well as embossed on the hand guard.
