Advent Triptych (poster).
The Shepherds was first drawn by John August Swanson in 1979 as an 8.75” x 5.5” pencil drawing to plan a scratchboard piece. It was later elongated to a 23” x 7” watercolor in 1983. Two years later, it was used in the creation of a 1985 serigraph, printed at Advanced Graphics Studio in London. And, three years after its printing, it became part of the Nativity Triptych in 1988, when Nativity, 1988 and Epiphany, 1988 were printed. The Triptych was further expanded to six artworks with the inclusion of: A Visit, 1995, Flight into Egypt, 2002, and Presentation in the Temple, 2004.Made/Created
