Context

This adobe home was built by John Weinel in 1854-55 along the banks of what came to be called Spring Hollow Creek. The Weinel Mill was on the creek side just south of the home. After the Weinel's passed away the home was occupied by the Arthur Smith family, the E. Van Sanders family, and the Hod Sanders family. In the 1950s, the home was taken down when Hod and Clover Sanders built a modern home on what is now Mill Road.
