This picture shows a two phase building. The center section is the original Kay's Ward meetinghouse that was built with adobe brick in the 1850s. The two story front section and the far west stage section were added in 1911 when the building was converted into an Opera House. The front section included a box office, restrooms, rehearsal rooms, band room, and a scenery construction shop. The west end section included a stage, dressing rooms, and a small meeting room. Also, a balcony was added to the main auditorium. The outside basement entrance was on the north side of the building. William Allen designed the 1911 remodel/addition. This building was on the corner of Center and 200 West streets. It was taken down in about 1952.Collection
