Context

Fillin, a Kaysville artist, donated the painting to the Kaysville - Fruit Heights Museum of History and Art for fundraising and advertising purposes during a campaign to preserve the historic building. Situated on Main Street in the historic district, the building was constructed as part of a WPA project, built of locally sourced rock in a neo-classic style. It was accepted as a state and national building of historic importance and acted as a city hall, county health department, city library among other functions.
