Description

This is an account book or ledger dated from Monday, March 6th, 1865 to Thursday, March 22, 1866. The book has marbled brown covers, a dark brown leather spine and leather covers. A piece of paper with the number "84" typed on it is pasted to the top center of the front cover. The ledger appears to be from a shipper, warehouse or wholesaler. It records the sales or shipping of items such as tobacco, flour, whiskey and syrup. There are several entries apparently for the salary of John James Audubon's grandson, Victor Audubon, Jr.
