Dear George,
Thank you for your letter March the 9th. You need not fear "intrapping" into a correspondence I am one of the "unemployed" and I enjoy the letters. My brother's son, Leonard lives in Australia, he served with the Australian soldiers in the World War, nearly lost his life, but got well with the loss of his right hand and part of the arm. He learned to write with his left hand before he left the hospital, and is in business in Australia, he seems to be a good businessman, and is respected and loved socially. You asked about the situation of my fingers, I can use only one finger in reading my blind books, and my arm gets tired in a few moments, and there are not many books that stand the test of being written in the blind language, it is so slow, one has time to be a severe critic, and the supply in the blind section of the library is not very extensive, and mostly of subjects that do not concern me. You are right in thinking that I have many good friends, on Easter Sunday my room was like a conservatory.
Yours affectionately,
Hattie B. Audubon"Collection
