My dear Miss Fishman,
Your letter of Sept. 10th. has remained unanswered because of the prolonged illness of my daughter. However, I have finally gotten into my file for the Audubon letters and find on rereading them there are only two by Lucy Audubon, the others apparently were written by her granddaughter, Harriet. The contents of no special interest either except they hint at legal difficulties about Mr. Audubon's affairs. You are welcome to them for your files if you consider them worth keeping.
Yours truly
Mrs J. R. Margaret R. cautley
