This colored lithograph was done by Charles Joseph Hullmandel & Walton for George Robert Grey's 1837-1849 publication, "The Genera of Birds: Comprising their Generic Chapters". The lithograph details a green-chested Woodpecker with a red head perched upon a tree branch. At the bottom of the image is an inscription reading: "CHLORONERPES / rubiginosus. Swains:" The bottom-left reads: "C. Hullmandel's Patent Lithotint." The top-center reads: "MELANERPINAE." The top-right reads: "CX." This lithograph is plate #110.Artwork Details
