Description

This is a framed collage of images and photographs from the Bakewell family. The collage traces the family's genealogy starting at the top. Images are matted with oval, square, or rectangular openings with gold trim. The top image is the Bakewell's family crest. It shows a black bull upright in a four-point gold crown. Below that is a shield with a red band and a gold lion in the band and blue and white vertical stripes. Below the shield is a light blue banner with the words, "ESSE QUAM VIDERI." Inscribed below the banner is the word, "Bakewell." The first two family members starting at the top are William Bakewell (left) and Lucy (Green) Bakewell (right). Printed between the images is, "Fatland / Ford / A.D. 1804" and printed just under the images is, "Children of William and Lucy G. Bakewell." The next family member shown is Anne (Bakewell) Gordon." This is a photograph. Below her are four members, starting at the left: Thomas Woodhouse Bakewell, Mrs. Thomas Woodhouse Bakewell, William Gifford Bakewell, and Mrs. William Gifford Bakewell." The next two individuals are John James Audubon (left) and Lucy Bakewell Audubon (right). Printing below them reads, "Children and Gran Children of / William Gifford and Maria (Dillingham) Bakewell." They are Lucy Audubon (Bakewell) Milliken, Alicia (Bakewell) Shaffer and son William Bakewell Shaffer, and Mrs. Willy (Bakewell) Crittenden." The last picture shows three people: Annie Gordon (Bakewell) Tyler and children Roberta and William.
