This colored lithograph was done by J.T. Bowen for the 2nd Edition Octavo Version of John J. Audubon's, "The Birds of America". The lithograph details two male and female Titmouse birds similarly marked and colored in brown, grey and white; perched upon a branch upside-down next to an intricate hanging nest. At the bottom of the image is an inscription reading: "Chestnut-crowned Titmouse / 1. Male. 2. Female and Nest." The bottom-left reads: "Drawn from Nature by J.J. Audubon FRS.FLS." The bottom-right reads: "Lithd. Printed & Cold. By J.T. Bowen, Philada." The top-right reads: "Pl. 130". The top-left reads: "No. 26."
The lithograph also comes with its page from John James Audubon's "The Birds of America". It is the accompanying description to the Chestnut-crowned Titmouse lithograph. The text describes the bird's behavior, physical appearance, areas of habitation along with its scientific name.
