The title page reads: "The Book of Common Prayer, and Administration of the Sacraments; and Other Rites and Ceremonies of the Church, According to the Use of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America: Together with the Psalter, or Psalms of David." The book was printed by the university press at Oxford. The following information is found at the bottom: "No. 44 1870 Pica 16mo." An inscription on the inside cover reads: "Prayer book used in family pew in St. Paul's Church, Salem, New York. The fly leaf was torn out by the old Vandal, Miss Florence' wrote E. Gordon Dillon, Aug. 1948 on sending a package of books to Miss Susan Towles, all of which she placed in the Audubon Museum at Henderson, KY."
