This is vol. XI (11) of Harper's New Monthly Magazine, June to November 1855. The volume is published in New York by Harper & Brothers, Publishers, 327 to 235 Pearl Street, Franklin Square. It is bound with black leather and multi-colored marble covers. "Harper's / Magazine / Vol. IX" is printed in gold lettering on the binding. The inscription, "Mrs. J. J. Audubon" is written in pencil on the blank page before the title page.
