Description

Color postcard depicting a collage of Florida Keys images - the Overseas Highway over Pigeon Key, the Seven Mile Bridge at sunset, the Key West Lighthouse, the Faro Blanco Resort and Lighthouse and the Southernmost Point. The caption reads, 'One of the great engineering feats in our history, the building of the Overseas Railroad to Key West ranks with the building of the Panama Canal. Connecting the Florida mainland to the city of romance, Old Key West, the Overseas Highway now uses the old Florida East Coast Railroad right of way. The little islands or keys are connected by this highway, surrounded by the sparkling waters of Florida Bay, the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic ocean. Shown here are some of the interesting views found in the Fabulous Florida Keys.'
