Postcard belonging to 'The Houses of Key West' series depicting the Joseph Yates Porter house located at 429 Caroline Street. Notation on verso reads '9. THE J.Y. PORTER HOUSE, c. 1838. Remodeled in 1896, it is truly a mish-mash of architectural styles including Virginian, French Provincial, Bahaman, and Victorian, to which have been added various decorations in wood, wrought-iron and brass. It is a massive, imposing, emerald-green grande-dame of a mansion.'Subject Place
