Description

Hand tinted lithograph depicting the Pirates Well in Key West often associated with the Captain George Carey house at 410 Caroline Street. The well was purportedly the first source of fresh water on the island and was used by pirates. The lithograph appeared in Miss Leslie's Magazine in January 1844. The hand tinted lithograph was drawn by George Lehman.
