Description

Divided back post depicting a young child with blonde, curly hair, dressed in a flowing white gown with a blue sash. The child is holding a book of music, standing before a large, stylized representation of the American flag, which includes a scroll across the top with engraved words from the patriotic song 'My Country, 'Tis of Thee, Sweet Land of Liberty'. Golden stars float around the child, enhancing the dreamy, patriotic theme of the artwork. The message on the verso reads, ‘To Dear Carolyn, With love from Cousin Ellis, Key West, Florida, July 4, 1910’. The card is addressed to Miss Carolyn Hattrick, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
