One of the pictures I took Oct 18-1912 which shows, the 2 upper locks, with the intermediate gates partly open it is 500 feet to the interior gates and a 1000 feet to the rear gates, you can't [sic] anything of the middle and lower locks. See the grass in front of the guard gates there is 25 feet of water against them, the floating islands make it look like if it was land. You can see the Atlantic Ocean down the center and my shop at the right of locks with white roof. This picture was taken from the range light house on center approach wall at GatunLanguage
