The description on the verso reads, ‘Built in 1878 and long considered the most beautiful __ building In Florida, the Convent of Mary Immaculate has played an heroic part in the history of the island thrown open as a hospital during the yellow fever plaque and none of the nuns perished with their patients. During the Spanish-American War it again became a hospital and its interesting museum is enriched by many gifts from grateful patients. The grounds are a treasure-trove to botanists.’
