Postcard depicting cars and foliage in front of the Key West Lighthouse.  The caption reads, ‘The only Lighthouse in United States entirely within city limits, Key West, Florida.’  A handwritten note on the front points to the lighthouse and reads, ‘We live half a block from here.’  Notation on verso reads, ‘The only lighthouse in the U.S. operating within city limits is this one in Key West, which is 130 feet high; a splendid view of the island and surrounding waters is to be had from its top.  The grounds, open to the public, contain an aviary, operated by the Superintendent, William W. Demerritt, for the purpose of ascertaining the routes of migratory birds by banding and releasing them.'Subject Place
