Postcard depicting a steamboat with signage reading ‘Wilson Line, City of Chester’. The message on the verso reads, ‘Sta City of Philadelphia. September 11, 1913, Dear Friend, Wishing you many bright and Happy Birthdays, H. Hammond.’ The card is addressed to Captain J. R. Hattrick, Room 332 HH, Sailors Snug Harbor, Stanton Island, New York. Notes on the verso read, ‘Received and answered September 13, 1913; Chief Engineer City of Philadelphia.’ The card is postmarked City of Philadelphia, September 11, 1913 and Wilmington, Delaware, September 12, 1913.
