Lettering on the plate reads 'REMEMBER THE MAINE' and 'U.S. BATLESHIP MAINE DESTROYED IN HAVANA HARBOR FEB. 15-1898.' The back of the plate has lettering that reads 'PATENT APPLIED FOR.'
