Black and white photograph of the Florida East Coast Railway train blown off the tracks by the Labor Day Hurricane near Islamorada.  Caption on verso, 'Upper Matecumbe Key after the hurricane that struck on Labor Day, 1935.  This view is looking from the south, and shows the wreckage of the train sent to rescue the veterans.  At the extreme right is a man standing on the highway.  To his left are the remains of the store that served as the Islamorada Post Office.  The train station stood at the intersection of the road/tracks.  The ruins of a house stand above the train.'Photograph Details
