Postcard depicting children and adults with a large turtle on the docks in front of Turtle Kraal at the Key West Bight. The caption reads, ‘Dock at the Turtle Crawl, Key West, Florida’. The description on the verso reads, 'Giant turtles are of great interest, awe-inspiring to youngsters, some are imported from the Galapagos Islands weighing almost 300 pounds.' The message on the verso reads, 'Darling Sheila Ann, Grammie is down here for a short visit, many thanks for the school papers. Do study and get good marks. Bye Bye my darling, Grandma Gerhart'. The card is addressed to Miss Sheila Ann Gerhart, 326 Miller Street, Reading, Pennsylvania, and is postmarked Key West, February 6, 1955.
