Woodcarving by Mario Sanchez depicting the Cuban Club at 1108 Duval Street. There are school children walking down the street, and a man pushing a wheelbarrow of fish. Two pieces of wood bolted and glued together.
Caption written by Sanchez reads, 'This Club was founded in 1900 by a group of young Key Westers of Cuban descent. It functioned for many years as a mutual and recreational club. Every so often the club held checkers, chess and pocket billiards tournaments, and also held dances, which attracted the youth from every section of Key West. A few years ago it was sold to a private enterprise. A fire totally destroyed the building.'Type of Sculpture
