Description

Wood carving by Mario Sanchez depicting a funeral procession on the street. The Welters Cornet Band leads the funeral with a horse drawn hearse and a group of mourners following behind. Caption written by Sanchez reads, 'This funeral is going in the direction of the cemetery. It is passing on Angela Street, between Duval and Simonton Streets. The two houses to the left were moved to other places to give way to Peggy Mills Gardens. The two stories white house was her residence. The little house to the right was where Mr. Esperdy had his tobacco leaf business and the following house was where the Esperdy family lived for many years.'
