Description

Wood carving by Mario Sanchez depicting groups of women standing in black dresses with white polka dots gossiping in front of a turreted white conch house. Two Dalmatian dogs are also on the sidewalk along with two men talking on a bench. Caption written by Sanchez reads, 'This scene is self explanatory. It is typical of small towns, where they decide in groups to tell each other that they do not like to gossip, only to talk in a low tone so that they women on the porch cannot hear because it is about them'. Matches the paper bag drawing 1987.01.3254.
