The wreck of the U.S.S. MAINE being towed by tugboat from Havana Harbor, Cuba. The MAINE exploded under mysterious circumstances on February 14, 1898. The wreck was salvaged by the United States government from 1910 to 1913. Only the stern was refloated. The wreck was towed backward out of the harbor, and sunk about four miles out to sea.Collection
