The caption reads, ‘Steamship Dock at Foot of Duval Street, Key West, Florida.’ The description on the verso reads, ‘Key West’s harbor has long been famed for its commodious and sheltered water. Ocean-going steamships come up to the foot of Duval Street, the “longest street in the world” running from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico.’ The message on the verso reads, ‘My hand is awful, please excuse it. Your letter and telegram reached me today. Thank you so much. Daddy got home today. All well, will write tomorrow.’ The card is addressed to Mrs. W.B. Kirke, care of Mrs. Frank Schmengle, 580 Park Avenue, New York, and is postmarked Key West, October 8, 1938.Collection
