Postcard depicting women in period costumes near gates bearing a sign that reads, US Naval Station,1823’. The description on the verso reads, ‘Presidential Gates. Presidential Gates at Key West. Key West belles in old Key West dress look at the Presidential Gates of the U. S. Naval Station. These gates are open only when a president or other well known dignitary comes to visit Key West Naval Station. Nineteen presidents have visited Key West including Grant, Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower and Kennedy. Truman’s famous Little White House is only two blocks through the gates and officers quarters line both sides of the driveway.’
