Postcard depicting passengers on the Conch Tour Train. The description on the verso reads, ‘Depot and Conch Tour Train. The famous 64 passenger Conch Tour Trains operate several conducted lecture tours daily. Passing over 60 points of interest, these sightseeing trains run from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico. This historic old town is the Nation’s southernmost city and the only tropical city in the continental U.S.A.’ The message on the verso reads, ‘Christmas night, Dearest, Lots of Love, lovely to talk to you yesterday, we haven’t had time to take the Conch train (Suzie wants it too) probably never has – so she must do it next time here. The weather is cool & balmy & gorgeous – I’m listening to the breeze through the fig tree leaves – (it’s late) after a get together in the garden at 410, love you – miss you – thinking of you. Always.’ The card is addressed to Mrs. O. A. Poirier.Subject Place
