Black and white photograph of workmen on the back of a houseboat used during the construction of the Overseas Railway.  Workers were quartered in wooden houseboat barracks such as this until the hurricane of 1906 which swept a number of them away, killing 160.  Afterward, the laborers were housed in wooden buildings ashore.Photograph Details
