Postcard depicting buildings belonging to Naval Station Key West. The caption reads, ‘Key West, Florida, U.S. Coal Sheds, Weather Bureau, and Machine Shops.’ Notation on verso, 'The U.S. Coal Sheds are located near the Commandant's quarters, and are equipped with apparatus that allows colliers to be unloaded and war vessels to be coaled almost entirely by machinery. The Weather Bureau was erected in 1903, the site costing $2,000 and the building, $8,000. The Machine Shops are located on the harbor; the original buildings were constructed during the Civil War and have since been greatly enlarged.'
