Postcard depicting a highway over buildings on an island. The caption reads, ‘Overseas Highway, above Pigeon Key, between, Key West and Miami, Florida’. The description on the verso reads, ‘Key West is connected with Miami, 170 miles, by the world famous Overseas Highway. There are scores of bridges and viaducts. One bridge is more than seven miles long. Total length: 127 miles. The message on the verso reads, ‘Would appreciate picture of your bus with the dog on top. Have enjoyed your tour, Mrs. C.C. Orgo, 1159 Clarence, Oak Park, Illinois.' The card is addressed to The Sweetest Man in Town, Key West, Florida, and is postmarked Key West, March 1, 1951.Collection
