Linen postcard depicting the Overseas Highway. The caption reads, ‘Bahia Honda Bridge on the Overseas Highway from the Mainland to Key West, Fla.'. The description on the verso reads, 'The Overseas Highway to Key West, Fla. the southernmost city in the U.S. is one of the greatest engineering wonders in the world. Crossing Bahia Honda bridge is the most spectacular part on this great highway where the road rises 70 ft. above the meeting of the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.' The message on the verso reads, ‘Dear Folks, Had a nice time at [...] he took a couple of days off & took us to Boston to see young Arnold & his wife & they were very nice. & the next day they took us to Hyanis [sic] & asked us to stay till Fri. Then we went to Pawtucket & stayed until Labor Day at Alice's & then to Providence to Whiteheads & they asked us to stay overnight & now we are back at Jim & Lily's & we both got a cold. Mine is nearly gone by Grandpa's is not yet. Love Ma. How are you folks enjoying your trip haven't got word yet from Marion.' Addressed to Mrs. L.C. Wolstenholme, c/o O.H. Dietrich.
