Color postcard depicting the Southernmost Point. The caption reads, 'Shell Sellers, Southernmost Point Whitehead & South Streets. The Kees have been gathering conch shells and selling conch meat for three generations. Where can one purchase a souvenir of such rare beauty as the pink conch shell. Tourists make this a must stop and see preserved turtle heads, devil fish, coral, sponge and many other shells. A cable house which once housed cables going to Cuba may be seen in the background. Blowing the Conch Horn, Mr. Kee demonstrates the use of the conch shell as a horn which was a means of communication in early boating days. Part of the tip of the shell is cut off and light air pressure applied to the hole. The sounds carries a great distance.'Collection
