Black and white negative of the McMullen family at West Summerland Key. These houses were built by the Florida East Coast Railway for those employed in the construction of the company's Overseas Extension. Houses were purchased by employees with money taken from wages to pay for the structures. Carlton Corless, F.E.C. accountant during the construction of the railway said the company offered a $300 model and another at $500.
